چکیده

hypertension in and a higher mean age of our patients. The arterial pressure is increased in the artery proximal to the bridge and the blood flow pattern also changes. These factors, in turn, could cause tension on the arterial intima and may cause or worsen preexisting atherosclerosis[5]. Though hypertension is one of the factors for the formation of atherosclerosis, it is not the direct cause for stenosis in patients with myocardial bridge. We found no correlation between myocardial bridge and stenosis of the proximal artery in hypertensive patients. This finding, however, needs to be further confirmed by additional studies involving more patients.

Multiple myocardial bridge in a 59 year-old woman

Introduction: Myocardial bridging is a congenital condition in which a segment of a major epicardial coronary artery has an intra myocardial route. Myocardial bridging is usually confined to a single vessel and is typically the mid segment of the left anterior descending artery. Bridging may be associated with chest pain, myocardial infarction, and sudden cardiac death, or usually asymptomati...

Relationship between the location of the most severe myocardial perfusion defects, the most severe coronary artery stenosis and the site of subsequent myocardial infarction [Persian]

This study evaluated the relationship between the location of the most severe coronary artery stenosis and the subsequent acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Methods: Of 1590 patients who were admitted with a diagnosis of AMI, we identified 44 patients who had undergone previous myocardial perfusion SPECT. Thirty-one of these patients also had previous coronary angiography. The relationshi...

Myocardia ischemia associated 1 with a myocardial bridge with no significant atherosclerotic stenosis

25 Myocardial bridge refers to the myocardial tissue with which the coronary artery is 26 partly covered. Though it has long been regarded to be benign, patients with 27 myocardial bridges may present with myocardial ischemia, acute coronary syndromes, 28 coronary spasm, sudden cardiac arrest or even sudden death. In present study, we 29 reviewed four cases with myocardial bridge and no stenosi...

The relation of ST segment deviations in 12-lead conventional Electrocardiogram, right and posterior leadswith the site of oc-clusion in acute inferior myocardial infarction

Background :In addition to diagnosing the acute myocardial infarction (MI), stratifying high-risk patients and proper treatment strategies are important issues in managing patients complaining of chest pain and suspecting MI. Many studies have been conducted to predict the occlusion site by interpreting the ST segment deviations in Electrocardiogram (ECG).Additional posterior and right precor...
